UiTM Kuching Kayaking

Beryleen excitedly called me to arrange for a kayaking trip for her group of student friends including her lecturers. So on Saturday, 26th January 2008 they set out from their Universiti Teknologi MARA, Sarawak Campus at Kota Samarahan for Borneo Highlands.
Here are photos of the happy and excited kayakers on Saturday - Beryleen Andrew, Robin Bennet, Francesca, Johanna Ahmad & Silverina Kibat. And they enjoyed themselves so much that they are already making plans for the next trip with us!

Dear Friends,
Hello everyone! Just to inform you that it was absolutely fun and awe inspiring to be able to kayak through river of Sarawak and watch the jungles and Bidayuh villages!
This program took place as i wanted to give exposure to my students on one of the tourism’s aspect in Sarawak- its recreational activities.
Its good because my students, Berry and Francesca managed to learn to kayak on their own, and I bet Robin is probably already confident to kayak on his own now!
You should come and try this once in awhile. Rainforest kayak is not that hard and its enjoyable. A big thanks to our tour guide, Jury and Azmi for being friendly, funny and informational…
A great weekend Escape! Bravo to our tour guides and my students.

One word for that day…FUN!!
Me, my dear colleague Johanna and the students (Robin, Berry and Francesca) were having the best time ever doing kayaking..haha not tiring at all and the view was magnificient!!
Thank you so much for the two ‘macho’ guides, Azmi and Juri for being so helpful, informative and funny! Not forgetting, Mr. Francis (hope can meet you soon) for your hospitable and great deal…everything was so smooth from the moment we search for information until the time they drop us back to our house!!
For all of you…i will always remember these words…durian, RRrrenggit, and palapalapala!!!hahaha!!
Can’t wait for the next trip with you all!!

1st of all, thanx to Mr Francis, Jury, and Azmi. Thanks for everything!
Pada mulanya, mdm. jo (pensyarah kite org) memberi pendapat utk membuat satu aktiviti berkayak yg t’dpt di kuching…. beliau m’dpt informasi tentang kuching kayak ni melalui internet… so. bila saya balik rumah tanpa membuang masa, saya terus membuka web yg pensyarah kite bgtau td…. perkataan yg pertama kuar dr mulut adlh… “WWWOOOWWWW!!!!” NAK PERGI KAYAK….Saya apelah lagi…. NAK! NAK! nak kayak….. hehehe.. excited beb….
Keesokan hari nya…saya pun berbincang dgn kwn2 yang lain utk meneruskan aktiviti ini.. dieorg pun bersetuju… apabila jumpa dgn pensyarah, beliau menyuruh saya untuk menghubungi MR. Francis utk menanyakan dgn lebih lanjut lagi….
Mula tu takut gak nak call mr. francis nie… heheh.. takut garang.. hahaha.. tp krn nak sgt berkayak… hilang takut tuh takder dah…sebenarnya… dier spoting & friendly gler… hehe…
Apabila semua arrangement telah dibuat oleh mr. francis… kite org pun tak sabar menanti tiba harinya.. seminggu beb…
Bile tiba harinya, abg azmi & abg jury amek kite org kat UITM… (tak jeles ker) hahaha… excited sgt2…. tak sabar nak bkayak….
Bile setibanya di titik permulaan, rs nak terjun jer.. tp tak terjun sbb tak pandai berenang… hahaha…
Pengalaman berkayak ader time PLKN.. tp lupa gak.. dah lama kan…hehe.. Dgn semangat nyer,, wahhhhh… dah pro masuk lubang “sabah”…. hahaha… pd mulanya.. mcm2 masalah.. asyik masuk semak jer…abg jury masuk lubang yg ader air terjun tuh 45 darjah jer.. saya dgn fran, 180 darjah.. ahahaha….
pendek kata… memang seronok gler… seronok sesangat… dapat jln p kampung org mkn “buah durian” dan “buah lumuk”. sedap…
Sempat pulak Miss sylver & Robin menyanyi di jambatan gantung kpg Danu.. (jamabatan tampararuli kunun…. hahaha) Kenangan manis kite org dgn 2 abg “macho” tuh best gler… sporting & FRIENDLY… tp sometimes dieorg jahat gak coz simbah kite org dgn air (kesian kena buli) ahakz ;P
Aper tunggu lagi.. kalo ader masa tuh.. isilah dgn aktiviti sihat ini… walaupun penat… saya masih tak puas.. bile tengok tempat penamat.. hati rasa sedih jer.. kite pun tanya kat abg azmi… “boleh tak patah balik??” sebab tak puas…hehe..
so.. rasanya lah sendiri kepuasan berkayak.. ape tunggu lagi…
Ape yg saya dapt katakan kat sini.. SERONOK!!!!. Selain seronok & menikmati alam semula jadi, kite org telah mempelajari byk ilmu pengetahuan… (nak tahu?? join lah…) hehe…
Utk tempat berkayak seterusnya… kite org akan sampai ke sana… tunggu……..
palapalapalapala…..(bukan apa… takut palak tebik kuar dr lubang batu ya tek nak…..) hahaahah….
kenangan manis berkayak yang tak dapat kite lupakan….;)

Wow!! siL n jo n the students go 4 the kayak..
it was an interesting activity and what makes it interesting coz the elements of tourism was there rite? u guys not only ride the kayak but enjoy the view n the surrounding area..
good efforts for the 2 gorgeous lecturer ;p sil n jo..i wish i was there with u guys huhuhu..next time maybe..

Hahaha..kenangan dan pengalaman berkayak bersama lec dan kwn2 dan juga tourist guide memang begitu berharga dan mengukir seribu kenangan.
